Addis Ababa Bole International Airport Expansion Project
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Airport&Transportation
Design
25.000 sqm, Ongoing, 2022
The current both domestic and international passenger has reached about 6 million per year and EAG has demanded that the final design capacity must fulfill 18 million passenger per year. As a result, T2 terminal has decided to be extended to satisfy required numbers. The extension has made by respecting the decision that applied for the existing airport. The Terminal Extension consists of the 4 floors that serve for both passengers and people working at airport offices. Approximately designed area is 24.450 m2. The Terminal Extension Building is located west side of the existing terminal and expansion starts from the existing building and continues towards the west. The Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is designed by taking the axes of the existing terminal building as a reference, considering that arriving passengers and departing passengers are not in the same places at the same time.
